Zoo/Poo

We took our annual trip to the zoo this week with Brooke and her kids. As always, we had a fantastic time.

monkeying around in the monkey house

Malcom observing, rather than participating (as to be expected)

the white alligator-- as you can see JJ is quite leery

hands down my favorite part of the zoo: watching Brooke and all 80 pounds of her push her brood up the hill past the giraffes

last but definitely not least, the long anticipated train ride

Now for the poo part. On the way home from the zoo, Asher began complaining of a stomachache. When we got home he was laying on the ground and I was trying to convince him to eat some tums when suddenly he puked straight into the air and back down all over himself. I immediately stood him up and shoved him toward the tile as he continued to spew. The camera happened to be right there so Kevin snapped a shot. Not too long after his shower, the pooing started. Needless to say, I spent the rest of my night cleaning up diarrhea and throwup rather than sleeping. I still don't know what the deal was because he hadn't eaten anything the rest of us hadn't, and he was good as new the next day.

Kansas.. plus a little Missouri

The weekend before last I was in Kansas visiting my dear friend Kristin. While I don't have the evidence, (believe it or not I didn't take a single picture, pathetic I know) I at least had to make mention of the trip because it was a wonderful time hanging out with her cute family and getting to see her new baby Charlie-- rumor has it Chuck really misses me:) Kristin and I were Rick's roomies our first year at college, and here we are nearly ten years later, hanging out as ladies. I love it. I just wanted to say thanks to the Withers for being such gracious hosts and allowing me a fun weekend getaway.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

It snowed again today. I hate it. It's April for heavens sake! Outside on our balcony watching the snow fall, we posed for what I hope to be our last bundled up looking photo this year. p.s. Kevin wished he could join in our outdoor fun, so moments later when I saw the picture, it looked like this... it kind of looks like I'm standing next to cardboard cutout Kev, not to mention a thinner cardboard cutout Kev with whiter teeth. Wink, wink.

Grease Monkey

So, stinking Malcom decided to go swimming in a tub of vaseline while I was in the shower. Kevin, who was watching t.v. rather than his son, failed to notice that he had disappeared into the other room for quite some time. Malc had just received his ritualistic rub down of the cream after he'd gotten out of the bath, so unfortunately the vaseline was within reach. When I came out into the family room and saw him COVERED in vaseline (not to mention the carpet) my first instinct was to start swearing. Kevin quickly jumped up and instructed me to grab the camera. Malcom's only response to my outrage was poking gobs of vaseline into both his "eyes" and "nose" which is all he kept saying - probably because he couldn't see or breathe. Honestly, I can't figure out how he lathered himself so thoroughly. The entire brand new 13 oz. tub was scraped clean. Even now, after about 16 washes, his hair is still recovering. I tell you, this kid is trouble.

More St. George Fun

Last weekend we took a little family trip to St. George. The weather was much warmer this go round and our stay was a bit longer, which was nice. We did a lot of swimming, visited the dinosaur tracks at Johnson Farm, went mini-golfing, and fed the ducks daily. Lots of quality family time. Splendid.
