First, Asher started piano lessons in January. He voted for violin lessons, but because we own a piano I opted for piano. He really seems to like it and even his teacher says he's a natural.
Also, Asher lost his first tooth last month (quickly followed by his second). We tried the old string pulling technique and it worked like a charm. He woke the next morning to a silver dollar under his pillow which he promptly lost just minutes after coming to show it off. Even funnier, with his second tooth, the tooth fairy forgot to come. We came up with a quick excuse about her not having the proper coin, but when the next night came and we were still unprepared, Kevin responded with, "Oh shoot, you know what-- the tooth fairy doesn't come on Sundays." See what fantastic parents we are? Never fear, on the third night she left a crisp 2 dollar bill under his pillow and he seemed quite pleased. (The specialty money seems to complicate things...believe me, not my idea).
2 weeks ago we wrapped up our first go at Junior Jazz Basketball. The season began with Asher standing on the court with his hands in his pockets, nervously biting his lip and ended with him taking kids down in order to get the ball. His one basket of the season was a fastbreak lay-up off of a steal. Priceless.
