guilty as charged - asher's first mug shot
Yesterday while waiting in line at Tjmaxx, we were looking at some books. Asher asked if we could buy one and I said "no" as I put the books back and approached the register. It was at this point, apparently, that someone decided to slip a book inside his coat. As we walked through the parking lot to the car Asher was lagging and I noticed him fiddling with his coat zipper but thought nothing of it. On the road he announced that he had something exciting for me when we got home - again I didn't think twice and responded, "can't wait." When we got home I walked through the garage door and looked up to see Asher standing by the stairs with a big grin as he unveiled the contents of his his coat. I think the shock on my face scared him enough, but when I explained that this was stealing (which surprisingly seemed to be news to him) he was genuinely concerned. Especially when I mentioned the Police-- cruel I know, but so funny. When we took it back, Asher apologized to the cashier and handed it over rather sheepishly. Lesson learned...I hope.
The best part about the ordeal: the title of the book he stole.

Oh my goodness! ALthough he is a thief, he is pretty stinkin' cute! Holy cow this is hilarious...Livi did the same thing one day..walked right out of Claire's with a eyeglass case. What are we going to do with our kids?
Asher, I would post bail for you no matter what.
