Baby

sucking its thumb

between the legs (and that's the umbilical cord, not something else)

Yes, I'm pregnant. We spilled the beans on Saturday after Tee Ball. Our big plan to wait until we knew the sex kind of turned out to be awkward. I anticipated it being this great surprise, but mostly people were just confused. Friday night me, Kevin, and the boys took a trip to Fetal Studio. They said its a girl, but I'm not buying it... yet. Asher was so pleased. I had only announced to him that I was pregnant about an hour before we left for the ultrasound. He was so funny. He kept saying things like, "Are you serious? You're really pregnant? Mom are you teasing me? I don't believe it." I told him I thought it was a boy but dad thought it was a girl. He immediately took his dad's side and when the ultrasound tech said it was a girl, there were high 5's all around. My suggestion was to hold off on the excitement because just my luck, they'll find a penis when I go in in 2 weeks for my o.b. scheduled ultrasound. Kevin says I'm in denial, I say I'm being cautious. I'm now 17 weeks (16 1/2 at the time of the ultrasound) and I've heard stories. I have three friends that said they found out at 14, 15, and 16 weeks and it was accurate. We shall see. So there it is, a baby for Halloween, what more could you want?

I am SOOO excited for you!!! A girl! I love it! Thanks for giving me hope when I get pregnant again I have a chance at a girl :) She is going to be one awesome girl with two older brothers and you and Kevin for parents - the world needs more girls like I know yours will be! (and I know you aren't fully commiting to it being a girl - but I am) :)

I was waiting to see those darling ultrasound pictures of your beautiful little girl. My goodness! Aren't you thrilled? I am overly joyed for your family. Those boys are going to be such sweet big brothers to her (well at least Asher will be) =) Totally joking. Malci is going to love on her so much you'll have to keep him away. And they are going to be great helpers too. Man, I all ready can't wait to come out and see little VIOLET! Is that still going to be the name? Are you sticking with it? I love it! And am totally for it.

By the way, like I said, I sorta had an inkling that you were. I was so confused as to why you didn't want to talk about having a baby while you were out here visiting. Something was definetly fishy. I knew it!

Well anyway, she's going to be beautiful. And why not, look at her parents! We are thrilled for you here in Kansas. Now that I have written my own novel, I should probably leave. Keep us posted! Congrats sure love ya.

hi shayna! do you remember me? Rachel Davies? Yes it's true I am now officially a blog stocker! I hope you don't mind me finding you. I found you through Melinda and Becky's blogs. You are so pretty! Your kids are adorable too. And did you marry Bekah Swiss's brother? That is so great! I had my 3rd baby almost a year ago and guess what! He was supposed to be a girl. We got ultra sounds and everything...and for close to 20 weeks I thought I was having a girl. And then on my birthday HE was born. Crazy huh!
If you send me an email at racheldgarner@yahoo.com I can send you an invite to my blog and we can be buddies! So fun to see you again!

Hey Shayna! So Casey told me the news the other day. Congratulations!!! How exciting to finally be having a girl! I don't know if Kevin has told you yet but we are also having a girl. We went to the fetal photo place as well, but we went at only 14 weeks, so a part of me is still waiting to find out they were wrong and that we're actually having a boy. My next appointment with the doctor is next week so we shall see...
